Down Syndrome Awareness Month, Day 1

Happy Down syndrome awareness month! I am going to post each day this month, as our lives have been so profoundly changed by one little chromosome. I'm going to do a picture a day of Katie, because without her I would be blissfully ignorant that Down syndrome awareness month even existed. Happy October!

  1. Not sure if you remember me, but I interviewed for a position at the firm last year. I was the teacher, and we also both know Adriana! :)

I started following your blog when Adriana was fundraising to help bring Katie home. Just want you to know I have been so blessed by your blog and the entire exciting experience of bringing Katie home! Through your blog, I have felt as if I were "a part" of the process. I check your blog religiously and find myself a little sad when you haven't posted in a few days. (Then I pinch myself and think HELLO...she is busy raising 4 amazing children!)

Thank you so much for updating the blog and being such an amazing advocate for children and DS. You help me to be more laid back and mindful of the "big picture." I love how you "roll with the punches" of life, embrace them, and find the humor.

I even share your blog posts with my husband. We have a desire to adopt children someday, so we have really been educated about the process of adopting an international child.

Again, thank you for sharing and allowing Katie's big smiles to enrich my life. I cannot believe what she has accomplished in such a short time. The world is limitless for her with the confidence and support from her fabulous parents!
