Nashville Buddy Walk - Help Katie's Crew!

The Nashville Buddy Walk is a one mile walk taking place on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Centennial Park.  This is the first walk we will participate in.  You're not familiar with the Buddy Walk?  The Buddy Walk was started in 1995 by the Down Syndrome Society to celebrate Down syndrome awareness month in October and to help promote inclusion, awareness, and acceptance of people with Down syndrome.  You know, people like Katie.

When I think about what I want for Katie, it is above all inclusion, awareness, and acceptance.  We have been so incredibly fortunate to have an amazingly supportive group of friends and family.  Katie is  surrounded by people who have automatically accepted her and loved her unconditionally.  We chose Katie because she has Down syndrome, and this Buddy Walk is such an incredible opportunity for us to support other friends like Katie.  Obviously fundraising is fantastic, but more than that I would love to have a team of people who love Katie walking on our team, Katie's Crew

The walk is one mile.  Can't make the walk but would like to help support this fantastic cause?  Please consider donating through our team page.  I've set a very modest fundraising goal of $500.  We raised almost $35,000 to bring Katie home - that's amazing!  Remember Coins for Katie?  We raised over $6,000 by people saving their spare change.  Surely we can raise $500?!

Please join us either in person (which I would love!) or by donating what you can.  As we saw with our Coins for Katie, literally every little bit helps.
